Nice Start to the Christmas Week

I've got a finger long scratch on my right wrist, swellings around my ankles and my head feels like hell. But I feel wonderful.

I was tired, annoyed and distressed today. But I felt happy.

I was defensive, territorial and absolutely stubborn. But I felt like a kid. Wait hold up...defensive? Territorial? Stubborn??? That is like a kid!!! lol

AFT went down to Su Lian Methodist Home today to celebrate Christmas with 50 kids there. Several friends of AFT were there as well to help out. I was unlucky yet lucky enough to become a facilitator of the group "The Nutcrackers". I suppose I was weary about heading down there. Exhaustion was still my company since I hadn't recovered from the week's trip overseas as well as having to wake up bloody early every god damn day since I returned.

So I trudged down to the car with my sis and headed over to several points in Sembawang and Yishun to pick up logistics stuff, food items and people. By the time we reached the home in Ang Mo Kio, I was ready to sprint right back on home into bed.

But I got out of the car and helped transfer everything into the canteen area. Then the horror began: I met my group.

If I had written the "CinderElla revamped" script after this event, my group would have been my inspiration for the misfits. Dude...there was a kid in a batman outfit, another kid who looked like he wanted to rip out my throat and eat it for dinner, another dude who so happens to be the tallest dude there who looked as though if I blew it him, he would topple over instantly and of course there's the dude who thinks inflicting pain on me is fun and by some amazing thought process, he thinks I enjoy being physically abused.

"I'm going to kill myself," that was the first thing that ran through my mind. But of course, never backing down from a challenge, I rolled up my sleeves and barged right into that group and laid down my 3 famous rules:

Rule Number 1: When I ask you to listen, you drop whatever you're doing and listen.

Rule Number 2: No vulgarities and name calling.

Rule Number 3: Have fun.

Hey it works...

Anyways, the kids actually took time to memorise the ruless...odd. Then began the biggest lesson of my life. I'm used to orderliness and rules followed. So when a bunch of kids start running around like headless chicken, I get stunned. I was so stunned, that I stood there for a good 5 minutes, figuring out my next plan of action to control them while putting on an appearance that they're running about was nothing more than the results of my cleverly planned actions.

It took me 3 hours but I finally got it.

At first, I thought wow...shouting will not get into these kid's heads and rules seemed too complicated for them to get.

But I was wrong. Shouting did get into these kids' heads. It was just that they refused to respond because they were so used to more shoutings that would come after.

And boy do they comprehend rules. The comprehend them so well that they found the loopholes between my 3 rules. Man normal kids are not as smart as these guys. Trust me. Half my group will either end up as Singapore's top lawyers or possibly end up as the greatest criminal masterminds to ever exist.

As the day went by, I fell in love with each kid and somehow became one of them to the point where I got so pissed when another group kept bullying mine. I became territorial and moody all the while standing around my group like an alpha female would with her cubs.

At the end of the day, I had 19 kids in my group. Why do I mention this? Because I started off with only 13 kids at first. The other 6 kids who joined were either from other groups or kids who were disliked by the others. I even had one who had saw eyes a day ago and was ocstracized for that....and the government worries about racism.

When it was time to leave, one kid gave me a heart shaped balloon...that's the kid who found hurting me fun and thought I found it fun as well. Another kid made me sign his whiteboard...that's the kid who had saw eyes. And of course, my entire team made me swear I'll add them on facebook which is what I'm doing now.

It was a beautiful way to start the Christmas week.

From Sea to Air to Land

10 AFT members boarded the Leisure World Cruise on Monday. We went there for our 1st ever retreat. For those who couldn't make it, next time guys. And it'll be fun ; )

Anyways, on board the cruise, we did alot of nonsensic stuff from attempting to do an online AFT show to watching the cruise's crew performing the emergency drill (although I doubt the crew actually wanted an audience. But they didn't chase us off so we watched) to stuffing our faces with food to gambling ( hehe yeah...for half an hour only) to sleeping at the Tropica Cafe.

Also, we attempted to make some beats on the stand on the deck of the cruise ship...yeah here's our sorry attempt at it : )
haha I'll post up the actual video some day soon ; )

It was a helluva lot of fun and thank you guys for the fun time. We actually sang Karoke with Naathan and Jason taking the lead...

Remember Backstreet Boy's "Everybody"? Wel now we have Naathan and Jason's rendition in our head...

Jason: Are you sexual? (in a growling, metal rock kind of voice)

Naathan: Yeah Yeah. (in a squeaky voice that sounds as if he's so drunk)

lol. That ended at around 1am when the lights of the cafe went off. Then, we just sat around and played "I never...". For those who don't know how to play it, this is how it goes. The first person states a sentence like..."I never kissed a girl before". Then, everyone in the circle who has kissed a girl before has to drink from their cup. So we played that for an hour until our drinks ran out. Then Thana had to suggest slaps. Yeah we started slapping ourselves. Lots of secrets came out ; )

And at 3am, I slept on the very couch I was sitting on. At 6am when I opened my eyes, everyone else was asleep on couches as well. LOL it was like a refugee camp : ) Bettina, Naathan, Prabs, Jason and Thana. The others were smart enough to sleep in the cabins provided.

Now comes the hectic part. The cruise was on international waters. So, you have to change ferries twice before landing back in Singapore at Tanah Merah port. The moment we landed at 2pm, we dashed off back home. My family had a flight at 7.05pm to catch to Bali. It was mass packing and basically running at my house.

So we got to the airport and then passport troubles happened. My sis and my passport are expiring in June 2010. And as everybody knows, a passport has to more than 6 months before expiry to be valid for traveling. Hence a small problem at the airport. We finally got through but that was after sigining a form that said we'll deal with any problems arising at Bali's airport.

Once we landed there, my dad had to deal with the customs. And guess what? We had to pay the customs officer...basically it was bribery. Woohoo!

We then booked into a hotel near the seaside. It was called Kartika Hotel. Did you know that in Bali they have this one day in March set aside and it's called "Silent Day". Basically everyone in Bali stays in their home even the people in the city. They're not allowed to come out if not the security officers will catch them. All lights have to be off and if you're a tourist, you have to stay within the hotel. It's an interesting tradition and I realise I've just gone completely out of point.

Anyways, we reached our hotel at about 10.30pm so we basically fell asleep straight away. The next day we had several programs lined up so we had to rest.

And I don't think I can type anymore so in my next few posts, I'll include highlights of our trip : )

PS: Christmas is around the corner!!!! Presents, presents, christmas tree, Presents!!!!!

I'm Going To Hell

I'm completely and utterly mortified and I hope you'll can learn from my mistakes. Kanitha and I got into a cab and both of us were extremely tierd after rehearsing dance with the bride as well as spending the entire day out. Note that I was surprised that for the first time, the cab driver did not utter a single word. I mean if you had read one of my earlier posts, you would know that most taxi drivers like to talk.

That's beside the point but what happened next was that Prabs called and asked where we were. I pulled the phone away from my ear and asked, "Uncle which road are we on right now?"

No reply.

So I softly said into the phone, "My uncle's deaf."

And then out of the silence, came a computerised voice saying, "SLE".

I paused for a second and asked him to repeat what he had said and there came again the computerised voice.

I am such a jerk. Honestly. The man had his voicebox infected. I am such an imbecile. Hence the title of this blog. I am officially going to hell because of that. God I shall repent by being nice to all taxi drivers henceforth.

I visibly shut up in the cab after that stupid incident. Haiz. Anyways here's a Chris Brown song that I love very much. It's called "Crawl". And honestly to all those people who are dissing him, go ahead. You're entitled to your own opinion and frankly he deserves judgement from the public because when you are high up in the clouds, the fall is harder. When you're famous, you need to know how to manage your life extremely well so as to not taint your name with scandal.

HOWEVER, seriously people, burning his CDs and forgoing listening to his songs??? Are you'll crazy or just plain dumb? Music is music and should be appreciated for what it is. The Artist is responsible for the song but the artist's reputation has nothing to do it. God. Get it into your heads.

I know some people argue by saying: I forgo his music because I'm taking a stand. But buying his CDs and listening to his music, it seems like I'm validating his actions.

Think about it in this way,
1) Is Chris Brown a politician? NO
2) Does he influence any laws in society? NO

When NKF (National Kidney Foundation) in Singapore lost its reputation because of the infamous man who had golden taps in his toilet, people stopped supporting the organization as much as they used to. Now that's a stand because money as well as people's trust were lost.

And before you argue stating that Chris Brown is a well known artist and people believed in him and expected good morals from him, people he wasn't elected into his position. Plus people put him on that pedestal. So if he falls, don't over react.

Surprising how my brain works. I'm absolutely tierd and I end up writing this long post....anyways enjoy the song ; )

I Pressed the Emergency Button!!!!

Yup!!! : ) : ) : ) Okay first of all, I was completely concerned about the man who fell down. I was genuinely concerned about his well being.

But I got to press the emergency button!!!! And Kanitha spoke to the officers ; )

Yeah I'm kinda leaving you'll in the dark right? Okay from the beginning. Kanitha and I were heading down to Suntec City to purchase christmas deco for the Botanic Garden's 150th anniversary tree decoration event. So we were on board the train when all of a sudden this uber tall (yes taller than Yoga) guy just fainted and collapsed on the ground beside us. Everyone spaced out for a sec before this nurse (yes she was attired in the official nurse outfit. Lucky right?) rushed to his side and pulled him to his side in case he had the fits. Thankfully he didn't.

So this chinese aunty beside us went, "Push the button lah!" Kanitha and I turn to look at that green circular thing with a keyhole next to the door. Seen it before? It's within a rectangular shaped red portion. So I look at Kanitha and ask, "You can push that?" I mean come on!?! It didn't look like a button!!! But the aunty insisted and for some godforsaken reason, she couldn't push it herself but instead busied herself making a big fuss about everything else.

SO......I PRESSED THE BUTTON!!! And a soft alarm rang out throughout the entire MRT station. WOOHOOOO!!! Okay then, the train driver asked questions and.....KANITHA ANSWERED!!!

Okay that's as exciting as the news gets.

Moving on. Watch this advertisment...wait for it....wait for it...and check out the look on the guy in the blue shirt. Looks as if he won Miss Universe...

Worth Waiting For

Remember the video I said would be worth waiting for? Yes?

Well here it is. Actually there's 2 : )

I had a smile on my face after that one!

And I had goosebumps after that! It oozes awesomeness right? So get your butts onto youtube and subscribe to their channel if you want to catch this series first hand. It starts next year, 2010.

Children's Camp

CASE REPORT:
Date: 4th and 5th December
Time: 9am to 12pm the next day
Venue: Jelutong CC
Missing Item: Master Key to Toilets

Yup...I lost the master key to the Jelutong CC toilets...someone's either going to steal the basins from the toilets or start using the location as a hang out place.

Just got back from making a police report so at least that's over and done with. But then again, I have to pay for the key to be replaced.

But that aside. The camp went well. I was rather miffed at having to focus on the camp right after my paper ended on Wednesday but when it came down to it, the kids always make it worth it. We may have gotten a more crazier and more misbehaved batch of kids, but that doesn't matter.

Danish was there. The kid who was in my group the previous camp. HE HAD A SWEET STASHED IN HIS SHOE AS WELL AS ONE MORE IN HIS JACKET. Some things never change.

The theme for this camp was tribal and it was called "Camp Yapucha". The campfire had a really interesting concept thanks to Isaac who brought in drums and dancers. All the campfire songs were now backed up by tribal beats.

I was camp chief so sadly, NO GROUP FOR ME. But since it was only 40 kids this time around, all of us got to know the kids abit better.

So here's a huge thanks to all the campers who came down and made it fun.

A huge thank you to the facilitators, Naathan, Colin, Isabelle, Jason and Zahirah who handled the kids first hand.

A huge thank you to Prabs for handling all the logistics aspect.

A huge thank you to my sis and Kanitha who helped drive around the logistics stuff as well as collect food as well as....oh what the heck thank you for basically becoming the camp runners.

A huge thank you to my mum for handling all the food and drinks part.

A huge thank you to Ganesh and Jennifer for always taking care of the washing up parts.

A huge thank you to Henry and Thana for handling games.

A huge thank you to Praven for helping to build the net.

A huge thank you to Yoga, Mussie, KC and Sameer for coming down.

A huge thank you to Hans and Amanda for especially caring for the young kids who fell sick.

And a huge thank you to Isaac and the Pretty Boys for preparing the campfire and making it awesome : )

Alrighty then, on to other projects ; )

Legion of Extraordinary Dancers

Interesting title. It got me sitting up straight in my seat. Did I manage to get your attention? I hope I did. Because this is worth it.

I first saw this a couple of months back and I thought it was interesting that Jon Chu, a director, was assembling a team of elite dancers. I thought maybe he was going to do a dance movie...you know like the movies, "Step Up" or "Take the Lead". And then the dancers slowly started to perform on youtube through videos uploaded on their behalf. The group started increasing and the talent never ceased to amaze.

I remember watching this discovery program with my brother once; I can't remember the title for the life of me but maybe you'll recall it. It displayed the human body's ability to be amazing. The season featured various men from different fighting backgrounds showing off their strength in a studio that had all sorts of contraptions to test the extent of their ability. And at that moment, both my brother's eyes and mine were glued to the televsion set from start to end. I loved every moment of it as it made you believe in something that you once thought only superheroes could perform.

Well they exist. But they're not just martial artists. It was after watching this video of the legion of extraordinary dancers that I started watching them intently and I love every single one of them for the pure fact that I just can't even begin to comprehend what they're capable off.

If you want to know more about them, stay tuned because I've got an even more interesting video of them to show you. Trust me. It'll be worth your wait.

(I don't even know who the hell I'm talking to. The non- existent world of this writer's followers...hell yeah...)

Tomorrow evening I'll be heading down to this restuarant White Rabbit to help teach a bride a hip hop routine for her wedding reception. Kanitha is dancing too ; )

After that there's the Children's Camp on Friday and Saturday then there's the wedding itself then the Cruise then the Island holiday then the basking then the children's home then Christmas and finally the Countdown Party at Woodlands....

Satisfaction

It's odd that in life there are times when we experience utter satisfaction while at other times, we experience complete unsatisfaction.

At one point you'd be smiling and appreciating the moments in life while at another time, you'd be wishing that time flew by faster so that the bad times would pass by.

And then, you come to a point where you feel as though everything was contradicting. Right clashes with wrong. Loud with soft. Past with future. Good and bad. Love and hate. Pain and joy. Tears and laughter.

Oddly enough, it's those moments of contradiction that make the most sense. Do you get it?

Fireflies

I first discovered this song when I was playing my brother's I Touch games; Tap Tap Revenge. Okay ignore the lame game title ; )

But the point is that when I first heard this song, I thought it was by a band...I mean OWL CITY- screams band name right? Furthermore, the song sounded like it was produced by an entire band...guitarist, drummer, lead singer...

But no. The song- "Fireflies" was produced by one guy who calls himself "OWL CITY". I had to put this song up on my blog because it reminded me of so many things like...

A kid, imagination and dreams. I don't know if you'll feel like I did when I heard this song but it felt light and simplistic. Like there's no underlying meaning...the words mean exactly as they sound. I don't think it would appeal to many people but if it does to you then brilliant : )

Carousel

The video; "Carousel" has won Cannes-Lions 2009 Film GRAND PRIX...

And the Making of the video...

Interesting isn't it. Especially the whole concept of starting out with the cop who seems to be alerting the rest of the robberers dressed as clown. But then towards the end, if you have a keen eye, you realise that the first cop is in fact one of the clowns who had jumped out of the building. You can deduce this by

1) Noticing that the man lying down in the room in just his shorts and shirt is a police officer whose outfit was stolen.

2) The man below obviously jumped as there's a dent in the car.

3) And of course, the clown's mask in his hand.

Smallest Man Alive...

Hello.

Yeah the previous post before this one, ignore it. It's meant for the AFT meeting. My yahoo mail account failed me and hence I could not send out emails to Naathan and Kanitha. As such, I was reduced to pasting the email onto my blog for the two of them to find and print out.

Well it worked.

So anyways, moving on to more interesting matters, here's a video of the world's smallest man. Does he not look like Chuckie....a little...especially when he's smoking and giving that weird look on his face.

Other than that, this guy's a small dude with a big attitude.

Funny right? : )

So one of my papers ended yesterday. It was the theatre and drama module. 1 down, 3 more to go. The next paper is on Tuesday and it is the sociology module. It shouldn't be too bad.

Stayed back after my paper yesterday to study with Serena and Zahirah. The 3 of us ended up in the chinese library because the central library was filled. I swear, we were being watched. Zah and I felt uncomfortable...lol the chinese people were like staring at us probably wondering what the hell an Indian and a Malay were doing in a library filled with chinese books XD

Then Zah had to bring up; Grafenberg....ass.

That had me asking her uncomfortable questions...Imagine this. 3 girls. In a library. Whispering about Grafenberg. Don't know what that means? Go wikipedia it. That's what Zah did.

Serena left earlier and then Shanty picked Zah and I up to go for a late night supper. Prabs, Naathan and Kanitha were there too : ).

We had fun. We ate. At least everyone did except for Zah.

Then we all went home : p

And I just came back from my cousin sister's house. She was celebrating her child's 1st birthday. Haresh tagged along and it was him, my bro, myself and dad.

And now I'm just so blahhhh. You know that feeling? The one where you just wish to melt into your couch while watching some mind numbing show.

So I'm going off to do that now.

Saturday, November 21, 2009

Naathan i've written notes in the agenda below in red.you can use that to run the meeting.

Also, print out the other email I sent out awhile back about the banner painting at chingay. You need that.

thankyou.

One more...

My first paper is tomorrow at 1pm. It's theatre studies. I think I've studied all I need to...I think ; )

Either way I'm done memorising and am going to relax a bit.

Here's another brilliant movie trailer. Watch it.

Avatar

When you watch this trailer, imagine the pride the director and the production crew took in building this from scratch. This is a movie that has been 15 years in the making and has hit a budget of $50 million.

Is it worth watching?

Hell yeah.

I want

I want to hold the string of a blue balloon, lick the delicious brown chocolate ice cream of a cone, gaze up at the reddening sky before night comes, smile for no reason at all while lying down on the grassy green planes of a hill.

Why?

Because I can.

Because I want to feel.

Because I want to be.

Simply because it'll remind me I'm a kid at heart.

Exams

Exams are just around the corner.

Tuesday's the first of it all. In fact, it is the worst of it all. It's the practical of my theatre studies module, TS1101E, and we've to put a 20 minute production that has 3 songs in it.

I'm directing and everyone in the team has to double up as actors. So tiring. I haven't had time to do anything else but complete this production. There's still the director's portfolio to type out and it has to be completed by today along with the production booklet.

Once that's done, there's still the theory paper of TS1101E on Saturday. Then following that, will come the 3 more papers that I have.

X X
-
On other matters, the next AFT meeting will be run by one of the Vice Chairmans. And since the O and A level students are somewhat done with their papers, they should all be in attendance. So that's good news.
Haresh is sitting beside me right now. Watching Spongebob Squarepants. He's in this I've-showered-and-am-in-a-zombie-like-mode-not-sure-of-what-I-want-to-eat-maybe-pancake-or-waffles-or-no-suddenly-I-want-water. Family was over yesterday for Deepavali. It's 1 month later so it's apparent my family's enthusiastic.
Haresh and Suria decided to stay over. So the small kid's here beside me. But I mentioned that already. Spongebob just failed his driving test. Just in case you were wondering.
God....

All the Right Moves

This is a gorgeous song produced by One Republic titled "All the right moves". The first time I heard it last week, it sounded extremely familiar. I'm not sure but I think an old band may have created a song that sounded like this. Anways, listen to it because it can get very very very addictive. Plus the video was beautifully crafted.

Let's paint the picture
Of the perfect place
They've got it better then when anyone's told ya
They'll be the King of Hearts, and your the Queen of Spades
Then we'll fight for you like we were your soldiers

I know we've got it good
But they've got it made
And the grass is getting greener each day
I know things are looking up,
but soon they'll take us down
Before anybody's knowing our name

They've got...

All the right friends in all the right places
So yeah, we're going down
They've got
All the right moves in all the right faces
So yeah, we're going down

They say
Everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going
Yeah, we're going down
They say
Everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going
Yeah, we're going down

Do you think I'm special?
Do you think I'm nice?
Am I bright enough to shine in your spaces?
Between the noise you hear, and the sounds you like
Are we just sinking the ocean of faces?
It can't be possible... the rain can fall
Only when it's over our heads.
The sun is shining everyday, but it's far away.
Over the world that's dead.

They've got, they've got...

All the right friends in all the right places
So yeah, we're going down
They've got
All the right moves in all the right faces
So yeah, we're going down
(Repeat Once)

They say
Everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going
Yeah, we're going down
They say
Everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going
Yeah, we're going down

It don't matter what you see
I know I could never be
Someone that'll look like you.
It don't matter what you say
I know I could never fake
Someone that could sound like you.

All the right friends in all the right places
So yeah, we're going down
They've got
All the right moves in all the right faces
So yeah, we're going down
(Repeat once)

They say
Everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going
Yeah, we're going down
They say
Everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going
Yeah, we're going down
Yeah, we're going down

It's Not Complicated

Exams are coming up.

Theatre Studies practical is next Tuesday.

First paper is next Saturday.

House Chores ( lol necessary evil).

The rest is all by choice.

It's rather simple really. I just do what I want. Focus on what I love. And don't care about anything else. If trouble comes knocking at my door, it better have a good reason or I'd kick it to China. And yeah...I probably shouldn't bother anymore. I'll just deal with my own life and those I care for; my family and close friends.

Shruthi I'm sorry your best friend's mother passed away. Cancer isn't the
bearer of good news but I'm glad she at least had the chance to speak to her mum
before her death.

Prabs, thanks for lunch dear. And good luck with the birthday dinner. And
watch out for yourself on the bike. No more accidents okay?

Serena, take care of yourself. Stay well and healthy. We'll pull through
this. The practical will be over soon and so will all our papers.

Naathan, take care in Australia and hope you're having fun. We'll see you
real soon.

Yuvin, army is part of your life now dear. And it will be over soon for you
to move on with the rest of your life.

Shamala, you've disappeared girl but whatever it is you know you can call
me.

Zahirah, I'll be calling you in awhile to discuss the stalker matter. Why
did you have to all beautiful and glamarous? ; )

Shanty, Praven, Prateepan; Stay safe kids. Praven finish your papers fast
monkey. Prateepan, I'm so very very proud of you for making it into the ASEAN
kids cyber camp. Shanty, you're final year is coming to an end and I know
you'll do well.

To everyone in AFT: Your problems are mine simply because I'm
your chairman. Sometimes I choose to get involved and other times I'm
sucked into them. All I have to say is that I wouldn't push you'll so
much if there wasn't potential. AFT is your home as long as you want it to
be. So take care of AFT as it will take care of you.

I have learnt so much in such a short time and as such, there's something very important that I'll never do again. Of that you can be sure.

The 7 Sins. Which is the most dangerous?

According to the poll (of which not many actually did do but hey any answer is an answer...) So according to the poll, it's noted that lust and greed are considered the most dangerous.

I suppose Lust is dangerous in that it causes most to think with anything but their mind. It's distraction at its best and can serve to bring down even the greatest of nation. Case point: Troy.

What about greed? Greed for money, greed for food, greed for wenches. Not having enough of something and always wanting more. It can result in many deaths if one wants more power. Case point: Hitler (yeah....I couldn't think of a better example. Hitler keeps popping into my head especially after typing out my European essay)

But do you know what I think is the most dangerous?

PRIDE

Pride is a dangerous sin for it is to do with one's unwillingness to accept that his/her actions were wrong. And not being able to admit one was wrong is truly dangerous. It is not uncommon for people to have pride. In fact it is necessary to have pride. But it is possible to have too much pride. Pride refuses to allow one to see beyond they're own reasoning and further ensures that one is adamnet about one's stance. It can cause others to give up on a prideful person, leaving him/her on their own.

You may have your own views about which sin is more dangerous. And it is to do with the difference of personality. Some may feel that wrath is more dangerous and it may be true but in different situations.

Whatever the matter may be, it is undeniable that everyone of us possesses at least 1 of the 7 sins. I for one know that I am a prideful person. Sometimes too prideful for my own good ; )

But with time, each of us either learns how to curb that sin in us or we embrace it whole heartedly. Whatever the action we take, the sin will remain with us either in a large way or a small part.

Do you Know that Feeling?

I just read my post; the one before this. And did you know something? They say that when you hate something about someone, it's probably because you either behave the same way or atleast used to do so.

I used to be like that. Immatured, confused and I suppose ignorant to those around me. But I learnt. And that is all I intended with that post. I hope you'll learn. If not now, evantually. Please fight for what you want.

DO you know that feeling?

That feeling of desperation?

That intense desire to succeed?

That suddent wave of want that leaves you aching to fufill your dreams?

Do you know that feeling?

You should.

Everyone has had it atleast once.

If you're human, definitely more than once.

So what if that need or intense desire dies down after awhile? So what if suddenly you feel empty? So what if you feel that you're not having that drive?

I'll tell you what.

Give it time. That aching need or drive to succeed in life will not always be there. It comes in spurts just as how happiness and sadness, anger and sorrow, laughter and tears takes turn to appear in your life.

Just know that when that need suddenly disappears, it's not going to stay away. It'll come back. Give it time.

Oh and bloody hell...I just realised how solemn it has become!!!!!! Egads! We must not allow this darling non loyal readers who probably have stopped reading this blog.

NEXT POST: THE 7 SINS...WHICH IS THE MOST DANGEROUS?

Suck it Up

We all have to grow up. We all have to learn right from wrong. We all have to suck it up.

Never have I been more agitated before. I've always understood and I'll never stop understanding. Maybe that's what makes everything awful. Understanding. By understanding someone or what they're going through, you're expected to remain calm and not get angry at one's misgivings. I'm starting to feel weary of this.

Why?

Because everyone has issues.
Because everyone has problems.
Because no one has a perfect life and neither do they have a perfect journey.

So why are some people more openly depressed about their life while others are quieter about their problems. The only answer is the difference in personality.

Do I have a problem with this?

Are you kidding? Of course not. I don't judge people based on their personality. They are entitled to thier own opinions.

But what I don't like is when these different groups of people start judging one another based on the assumption that they're better either in terms of "My life's worse than yours and I don't get why you get everything!" or "You're life isn't bad at all. So why do you overact?"

Honestly, both sides should just shut up, grow up and FREAKING SUCK IT UP!!!

God....How I wish I can grab these people by their throats and tell them that sometimes to get something from life, you have to give something first.

No one gives you anything on a silver platter and if you run away at the first sign of a fall, frankly speaking...you're gonna be running for the rest of your life...and if that's the case, good luck because you're not going to get far.

And what about those people who feel as though they have the right to make the people around them feel miserable when they feel down and sad? I can't judge you because I'm not like you and I have to accept that everyone's different. But I have only one thing to ask of you. Can you please understand that it is UNFAIR when you make those around you miserable only to come back all smiling after a few days expecting those people to accept you without question.

DO YOU KNOW WHY WE DO THAT!?!?!? DO YOU KNOW WHY EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN TIME ONE OF YOU FALLS AND GRUMBLES AND COMPLAINS AND DISAPPEARS ONLY TO RETURN TO A GROUP OF FRIENDS WHO ACCEPT YOU AGAIN?!?!?!

I'll tell you why. Because we're idiots. We care for you'll dispite all the hurt we have to keep going through. We're such idiots. We hopelessly belive that you'll would change after each time. We're such dumb idiots. We don't want to see you'll fall again because we feel as though we are falling too.

Sometime ago, we felt as though we might have caused that hurt you'll seemed to hold but you know what? That's utter bullshite. When you stumble and fall, it's no one else's fault but yours. If you crash and tumble, it's your mistake. If you didn't spend your time well, how is it the fault of others?

God damn it all but if you'll fall again, I'd probably want to help guide you'll back but I'm going to step back this time. We all will step back. You know why?

Because you'll have to suck it up.

Essay Madness

*sobs*

Final Essay.

12 hours to complete it.

Here's the title:
(actually I can't post the title because I'll be submitting this essay to the NUS turnitin website which helps to compare the essay to all online sources to make sure that it is purely my work. I post up the title after submission. But let's just say that Finland, Germany and France are involved.)

*sobs again*

I honestly can't wait for tomorrow to come for it would mean I'll be rid of writing bloody essays for atleast four more weeks till my exams begin.

Speaking of which, my bro, Sameer, KC, Idham and Iqmall. Don't worry too much about what you can not do and focus on what you can.

They say good things happen to those who have good thoughts. Try testing that theory out. There may be a certain part of a subject that you're worried about and feel as though you may not be able to score but screw that. There's still 95% of the paper left to fret over.

So Do your Best guys and just apply whatever you've learnt.

I'M DONE WITH ONE OF MY POLITICAL SCIENCE ESSAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my god. You don't know how badly I want to scream it to the world. But then again, I already did it ; )

I actually sneaked out of my house at 5am in the morning, went outside where it faces the tracks of the MRT and just screamed. No not like a banshee. But I gave like a whoop of joy XD Ah it was glorious. I do have one last essay due for this term and it is due on Monday but that's another agony for Sunday.

Right now, I'm contend with being so bloody happy : )

Alrighty then, Updates Time:

My Top Ten List for Deepavali!!!

First of all, HAPPY DEEPAVALI TO EVERYONE : )

And in 10th place is....

It was yesterday but hey one's never too late when it comes to festivities. So yesterday was well spent at my aunt's house in the morning after which, we proceeded on to my cousin's house where we ate, ate, ate, collected money, played with the kids, ate, gambled ; )

In 9th place...

Did I fail to mention that my sis and I were in sarees. : ) We stumbled, fell and tripped but turned out pretty okay ; )

In 8th Place...

My grandma came over as well and it was nice. We rarely talk but having her there, seeing us in sarees was pretty...nice :)

In 7th Place...

At my cousin's house, my sis and I played with our freakingly adorable nieces and nephews!!! Ah there are such munchkins and I adore each and everyone of them. Attired in the saree, I didn't even give a damn that the youngest spill drinks on me.

In 6th place...

The brilliant part this year was that for the first time in years, my mum came out with us on Deepavali day itself. Usually, the four of us, my sis and 2 bros, would go visit my aunt and cousin by ourselves while she entertained other guests at home. But she came with us this time and it was nice. Lol I need a new word...'nice' is being overused ; )

And now, we're down to the top 5 songs.

In 5th place...

Check out the official video and see if you can recognise the singer ; )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXTC8tRY1gw

What was the best part of Deepavali yesterday, oddly enough it was the messages that I recieved. I know I didn't reply to any of it...but it gave me that warm fuzzy feeling to know that people still cared enought to message to others.

In 4th place..

After that, my bro, sis and I went over to Ganesh's house where we saw Prabs, Henry and a bunch of other people. Ganesh, you're mum's cooking is brilliant!!! Loved the prawns. And Prabs sorry for eating your ice cubes ; ) And Prabs, you looked nice. Henry, change. You're not even in SP!!! XD

In 3rd place...

So, now it's Sunday and my mum and aunt are in the kitchen cooking for our friends who will be arriving in less than 5 hours. I'm wondering why my mum hasn't screamed for me to get of the laptop yet actually. So, I'm going to rush and finish so I can help her clean whatever it is she wants me to clean.

In 2nd place...

My cousin has come over to stay overnight. It'll be fun to have him over. About 40 odd people are coming over to my house. They're a mix of all four of our friends... Mum's here... gotta run...

In 1st Place...

Minutes to the Test

So I'm sitting here at a desktop at AS7 in NUS, surfing the net while Serena's printing her theatre essay- a critique on the play "Manhood". Mine's printed, safely tucked away in my bag although not in a file as my mum would have preferred. Nay. I have slipped it between my organiser in hope that the pages will not fold.

Anyways, before I rattle on, I'm sitting here trying to squeeze in as many words as possible before Serena returns and the two of us have to leave for lunch. Yes lunch. At 10am.

I've got a test at 12pm and my nerves are acting up! Dash it all.

I've studied for it but there's always that possibility of not doing well. Ya know what's the best part, I've got a tutorial from 11am to 12pm and then I have to rush to my test which is half way across the campus...Wish me luck...

wow...I actually thought Serena would be back by now...apparently I can squeeze in a few more words...oh wait she's back...

From Mind To Paper

I see it at every corner,
In every light,
In every shadow.

I hear it in every sound,
In every cry,
In every laugh.

I feel it in every movement,
In every touch,
In every breath.

I taste it in every morsel,
In every dish,
In every sweet.

I smell it in every fragrance,
In every flower,
In every war.

What do I do?

I translate it so you may understand the way I see the world.

Drive to Fight

I forgot what it felt like, what it felt like to have to fight for something.
I forgot what it meant, what it meant to direct all your energy to attain something.
I forgot what it was like, what it was like to stand on top.

But I remember now.

I remember how to fight for what I want, my dreams and what I believe in.

Nice Ride

Congratulations sis! I am so very proud of you for passing your driving test : )

It's not as easy as some think and it is definitely not easy at all to drive around the roads for the first time.

Had a nice late night supper and a uber scary ride to Chua Chu Kang and back but we made it : )

So yeah..that's it...thanks sis!

Britan's Got Talent

When Ganesh showed this to me the other day and oh....it just makes your heart melt...

And check out these 2 dancers...although George, the second video, is my favorite...

So just a shout out to all those peeps whose birthdays fall on October!!!!

Happy Birthday to....

Ravin, Steph, Indra, Shruthi, Gauwri and ofcourse to my darling younger brother, affectionately called short man or handsome.

And thank you Naathan and Ganesh for a nice lunch the other day. And Ganesh, I had fun at my school watching random videos XD...

Serena...god damn it we're playing gay guys in the play....lol

Colin, Henry, Ganesh, Shanty, Naathan, Prabs, Sathin, Gauwri and Serena, thanks for making Lantern Festival fun for me : )

From the burning of random candles, to lighting up zippo, to balloon sculpting and braving the rain...

Sometimes, you wonder if you've made the right choices, if you're on the right path, if all those mistakes you made were going to lead you to that one successful climax in your life, if you were going to be okay? Ya know? Just alright : )

The Little Talent Show

All the kids in the videos below are under 6 years old.
Each of them has raw talent that will soon develop into something amazing. It makes you feel all good inside when you know such beauty still exists amongst all the chaos in the world.

The Future Olympics Medalist

The Street King

The Darling with a Sweet Voice

The Dude with the Beats

(He's only 3)

The Angel of Piano

The Princess of Strings

I was amazed at the talent I saw and had to sieve through nearly hundereds of videos to find them. If you know of any other kids below 6 who are equally gifted in another area, do let me know by either commenting on this post.

I'll be putting up another blogpost soon for talented kids aged 6 years old to 12 years old.

TODAY

How do I even describe my day today?

Went to school with Serena and found out that I have to play a 50+ old gay man who goes to Thailand and falls in love with a 19 year old Thai massage boy. Serena's playing my little...yeah well...she knows : ) School rocks...

Anywho, after that, Serena and I headed over to Jurong East MRT station to wait for Prabs. While waiting, we discussed about Kollyhood and Bollyhood. Yes, Serena's chinese. No, she hasn't forgotten how to speak chinese.

Once Prabs came, we headed off to Jurong Point at Boon Lay where we went to Billy Bombers and ate expensive food. Deena joined us and ate equally expensive food. It was damn filling but I had my eyes on the chocolate fondue. So we ordered. Sumptious chocolate with marshmallows yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But then of course, Prabs had push the chocolate off one of my marshmallows preventing a nice sheen of chocolate layer to coat my marshmallow. Damn you Prabs. Then Prabs and Serena fought over the ice cream for the fondue. Deena, during all this, was contently eating a particular flavour of ice cream that neither of the other two seemed to like.

After that, we walked around a bit before coming to a store where we spent quite some time looking at the stuff. We then bought these really chic bag tags. There are many designs for the E Z link card sized cards and you can personalize them by placing your name on it. I got Shanty one with Ariel's image on it, Prabs and I got Naathan one with Timon and Pumba and the words, "Hakuna Matata" on it, Prabs got one of the 101 dalmations yawning and I got this authentic design of mickey mouse. They are really beautiful tas and each cost $6.90 but if you buy 2, it costs only $10.

Then, we finally made our way down to the arcade, Zone X. Played Daytona and some other games. Playing the dancing game with Deena and died from the high tempo. Then, Serena and I played Para Para. We are proud to offcially announce that we attained to the highest score ever in that arcade. Can you imagine our joy when we saw that top score : ) : )

Then, we headed back and then, ate brownies and cheese cakes outside CC. Ganesh, Sathin and Thana soon arrived. Isaac arrived with Shanty. Thana, Serena, Naathan, Yoga and myself went from a meeting. Now, I'm tierd and my eyes are drooping on their own accords.

All in all, it was an AWESOME DAY!!!!! This day was more than I could ever hope to ask for.

Machine?

Leaders must be tough enough to fight, tender enough to cry, human enough to make mistakes, humble enough to admit them, strong enough to absorb the pain, and resilient enough to bounce back and keep on moving.

Love is just around the corner

How else can I make it better for you'll? How else can I explain that it takes courage to forgive but never forget. How else can I make you'll see that sometimes when one love fails, a better one will always come along.

Did the Planet Betray us? Or did we Betray the Planet?

Sameer suggested that I talk about global warming on my blog. No idea why he wanted me to but it got me thinking and seriously why not right?

Are we really running out of time? Some say it's all a heap of nonsense inspired to simply ensure people follow rules and regulations while others say that it is all true and that unless we do something about it, we are all in line for certain doom.

What do I say?

Insightful isn't it. Someone has to literally place a picture of an infant aging into an old man with the receding glacier behind him to make us see the truth.

Is time running out?

It is eye opening when you hear children say what they just did. It makes you wonder if we, the generation that came before them, are to be blamed. We need to grow up. We need to realise that this is our land.

We need to take responsibility.

Don't we?

It will come to a point where we need to take a stand before an SOS is required. We need to fight against what is to come. But then, it brings us to another question.

What are really fighting for?

It made me sit up straight in my seat. It made me realise how it can all be insignificant compared to what the future may hold.

Does it really matter how different we all are?

Humans are not the only ones living on this planet. There are the other creatures.

What happens to them then?

Look at yourself in the mirror. Take a good long look.

Are you capable of change?

Why do I feel like we betrayed our planet?

Singe Ladies ; )

This is an A list song with an A list dance performance. It's unbelievable that this entire dance routine was taking at one go with a few cameras. Kudos to Beyonce for pulling this off!

What is a Leader?

Leaders do not abuse their followers
. . .for without followers there can be no leaders.
Leaders teach those who serve them.
. . .They are the caretakers of their federation and of their people.
Without people who care there can be no federation.
. . .Leaders are prepared to lead, lead with fairness and love,
while teaching others to lead.

Their power does not come from magic
. . .it comes from the secrets of leadership.
To master these secrets requires time and hard work.
. . .There are no shortcuts, it takes time.
And with time comes the learning and paying the price.
. . .Leaders make decisions and don't put off
because delaying necessary decisions
. . .discourages those who follow them-
They learn by observing the leader's actions and words.

Leaders anticipate risk and are willing to accept
. . .the consequences of risk instead of
turning to the comfort of personal security.

Their instincts become sharpened by experience.
. . .This experience helps the leader develop
skills to carry out their goals.

Leaders never cease to be students.
. . .They never cease to look for new insights
and new methods while preserving tradition.
. . .They master the skills necessary to be effective powerful leaders.

Loyalty - not to be mistaken for disagreement, for it is not disloyal to disagree for the good of the federation or those they lead. If one who follows brings disharmony, they must be removed for their negative actions divide and breakdown the group. A true leader sees inside the heart and knows the nature of each follower's action.

Courage - It takes courage to carry out assignments, overcome obstacles, surpass confusion in adversity. Leaders are not overcome by small challenges but carry on in the face of many obstacles, learning from each one. They excel in times of uncertainty and danger as well as success

Loneliness - is often a part of a leaders life. He or she has suffered despair, ridicule, and has developed the virtue of long-suffering. Leaders act with confidence. Trusting themselves and the higher power of their belief in God as they understand Him.

Self Confidence - develops from proper training and experience and develops the assurance to meet all life's challenges. A show a lack of self confidence is evident to their followers and they soon lose respect and fall by the wayside.

Accountability - is strong in leaders because they accept freely the responsibility for their actions and do not make excuses. They never place blame. They take pride in their achievements. They are responsible in seeing that things are done and directions are followed.

Reputation - is believed by friends and adversaries. Their credibility is solid for they believe in honesty of word and deed.

Timing - is learned by failure as well as success. The lessons learned from mistakes of when to act and move develop their timing. They know who they are dealing with and their character as well as their opponents ambitions. Leaders master their sense of timing..

Competitiveness - resides in the heart of a leader for each one has a strong desire to win in battle, negotiations and internal strife.

Desire - brings commitment in the heart of a warrior. Every leader is a warrior and must have a desire to lead.

Stamina - in body and mind and emotional strength constantly grow. Demands increase with each level. Leaders bounce back from defeat and discouragement and persist in the face of difficulty. They are sound in body and mind.

Empathy - enables them to appreciate the value of others. They learn the cultures and beliefs of their followers and are sensitive to them. They know when not to ask personal questions. They take into account all the facts of a situation.

Dependable - and reliable, others can count on them. They never give up. They even persist when others abandon them. Leaders are tenacious and unyielding in pursuit of their goals. Leaders emphasize to their followers that they depend on them and are proud of them.

Stewardship - to caretake the goals of the federation with confidence, trust, loyalty, and love. Leaders never abuse those who follow themand, only as a last resort, when all other attempts have failed do they remove those who do not share the same sense of fairness and unity. They realize that to be good leaders they had to first learn to be a good follower.

Cold Hold

Behind 71 years of life; we seek what seems to soothe the soul. An unattainable answer that seems far beyond reach. We deny that we ever go looking, in fear of the glances we attract.

For the 25 times we've cried; we laugh it off and brush the thoughts that caress our minds daily. We seem to think that it's only right to hide what should be revealed. Each day we wrap ourselves in one more layer, each day we thicken our stance.

For on the 22nd year; it's tucked so far within that it takes years to melt the cold we've built. It's buried so deep beneath that most of the times we forget it exists.

By the 52nd time, we've tried; To not get hurt, to not feel pain, to not have the label of weakness attached to you, we struggle to keep calm and composed. It's frighteningly real and impossibly gut wrenching when you fight to keep it under control. But that's what happens when you try to hide the obvious.

For the 81st time; Your ice cold heart breaks into a thousand pices. Your rigid mind bursts from the rules and regulations.

Sometimes we forget we're only human.

Sometimes we forget we're liable.

Sometimes we forget we have a heart.

Most of the times we shun what's Love.

10) Must have a sense of rythm (So that we can dance under the stars)

Yes...It's still me. I've not been taken over by pod people! And yes, this list seems impossible. But hey, a girl can dream can't she? : )

PS: Happy Hari Raya Sameer, Idham, Igmall, Zahirah, Syaymah, Farhan, Ain, Nana, Mala and any other Malay people reading this blog : )

It's Alright

It's okay. I understand. At least I think I do.

Don't worry. The light is just around the corner. Hold your breath.

Trust me. Things always get better. It's not just in fairy tales.

Watch. The world is not gloomy. The dark clouds are easily blown away.

Listen please. Music is everywhere. It's not just in your dreams.

Feel. The winds blow stronger than ever. Let it course through your blood and veins

Believe. You're strong enough to pull through it all. Just know that life holds great treasures for you to find.

Hold tight. I'm right here. Standing beside you the entire time.

"He would have held you, things your father never told you."

6 Floors Down

The lift fell 6 floors down before coming to a stop between the 5th and the 6th floor. Was I terrified?

Honestly, no. At that point, i felt nothing, as though it didn't matter if the lift fell all the way and crashed. My bag fell off my shoulder, the laptop dropped to the floor, my knees buckled and I collapsed to the floor under the sheer force as a result of the drop.

And when that sudden jerk came as the lift stopped, I couldn't look up. I was looking at the ground and just waiting for what would happen next. "Going up," the voice recording for the lift said. And at a snail like pace, the lift moved from between the 5th and 6th floor to land at the 6th floor. The doors opened and at a speed I never knew I possessed, I grabbed everything and half crawled half stumbled out of the lift.

I don't know how long I sat there, outside the lift, leaning against the wall. I didn't cry, I didn't breathe heavily. I just sat there.

No. I didn't have any flashbacks of my life neither can I say that I experienced any life changing moments where I regreted not spending enough time with the people around me.

All I felt was a sense of numbness that cacooned me for nearly 10 minutes. Then I grabbed my stuff and descneded down the stairs.

Awesome right? : )

Husband for Sale

A store that sells husbands has just opened in Mumbai, where a
woman may go to choose a husband.

Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the
store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE!

There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the
shopper ascends the flights.

There is, however, a catch. .... You may choose any man from a
particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot
go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a
husband...

On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men have jobs and love the Lord.

*********

The second floor sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, and
love kids.

*********

The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love
kids, and are extremely good looking.

" Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep
going.

*********

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads:

Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love
kids, are drop- dead good looking and help with the housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand
it!"

*********

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love
kids, are drop- dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign
reads:

*********

Floor 6 - You are visitor 5,363,013 to this floor. There are no men on this floor.
This floor exists solely as proof that women are
impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

*********

Ladies...You may ask me what the hell are you doing woman!?! You're one of the female species! You're supposed to support us not put up articles of jokes that cast us in a humorous light.

But let's admit it. We are picky. I'm picky. But guys are as well. Just in different ways. Let's see for the guys, these would be the Floors....

Floor 1: These women have jobs and love soccer.

Floor 2: These women have jobs, love soccer and don't want to have kids.

Floor 3: These women have jobs, love soccer, don't want to have kids and are gorgeous.

Floor 4: These women have jobs, love soccer, don't want to have kids, are gorgeous and do ALL the housework.

Floor 5: These women have jobs, love soccer, don't want to have kids, are drop dead hot (preferably a cross between Angelina Jolie and Beyonce) , do ALL the housework and don't expect you to remember the two of your anniversaries.

Floor 6: Yeah...dream on.

Ah yes...It's good to be a feminist.

Marvel at the New Iron Man

Found this article in the Straits Times. This is just an extraction...

Minor Changes that we at Disney would like to implement:

No 1: Casting. While Robert Downey Jr has done a commendable job in the lead thus far, we felt that his bad boy image and previous drug problems are not in sync with the wholesome role so important in everything we do. He will therefore be replaced by perhaps the biggest teen star, Zac Efron. You will no doubt recognise him from the wildly successful High School Musical movies.

No 2: Character Design. Before you start jumping up and down, we are in now way suggesting that we radically alter the look of Iron Man. What we will be doing is to ingect a new character into the script. This new character will be a guinea pig that serves as a sidekick to the Iron Man. It will wear a small high tech vest that will allow it to talk. This will also open up opportunities for mechandising and publicity of the movie G force.

No 3: Plot. While we understand that Iron Man has typically always dealt with international terrorism in some shape or form, our focus groups clearly do not care for the subject. What they would like to see is something more closely linked to High School terrorism. Things like, :Maybe Iron Man could, like, you know, wage war on Celeste who totally, like, cheated on Mike with Damien. ANd like, she knows I have this massive crush on him, the b****." Something to think about, yes?

Our focus groups have also voiced out their concerns over Spider Man. Spiders are terrifying. We're replacing it with a unicorn. Peter Parker can be licked by a unicorn.

One of our most exciting projects planned for next year is a live show involving Marvel characters, a dream come true for any fan. Just think about it: Iron Man versus X-Men vesrsus Spider/Pony Man on Ice. I just know that you share my enthusiasm in these matters.

Regards,
Your friendly, joyful, happy and magical CEO

Yeah we all know that Marvel has been bought over by Disney. And yeah we're all worried. What's going to happen? Will carebears make special guest appearances in Iron Man and will Minnie leave Mickey for Peter Parker? Troubling questions...all of them. But fear not.

Although I found this article by Jeremy Au Yong funny, I have faith that Marvel will retain it's spirit.

If they don't. I don't want to be Storm anymore. She could become Goofy's wife...
