Weak, Weary and Worn out

I'm weak to the bones, Weary from the days events and Worn out mentally and yet, I'm satisfied.

I got up to a day that brought me to NUS where I met up with Ganesh and Yoga for script writing for the Peter Pan production. After which, I dashed off for a Publicity meeting for the NUS's production which will be performed on the 31st of July 2009.

Then, I dashed back to meet the script writing team of Arteen Furteens...which now included Henry.

Then, I brought everyone to go and help out with the NUS's production by building sets. Indra joined us and soon Prabs did as well. Indra darling, thank you for the chocolate and the doughnut!

And now, I'm seated at Macs at Sun Plaza eating my breakfast. Yes. It is 4.07am.

Indra good luck with your Papers. Yoga and Henry thank you for coming all the way to NUS.
And Prabs and Ganesh, thank you for helping out so much in the construction of sets.

Live Life and Love Life. I'm tierd damn it. That's the best I could come up with.

Arteen Furteens Artwork

The artwork above was done for the Arteen Furteens arts group. And Yoga, you have done an exceptional job. Despite the fact that a few alterations have to be made, this artwork is truly inspired. The very fact that each component is a key part of what Arteen Furteens represents truly shows how much thought you put into this.

Thank you for being a brilliant Publicity head. It is more than I could have ever asked of you. And Suady, thank you for helping him.

One last time

TRANSFORMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay after this.

Watched it Again

Yes! I am guilty when it comes to watching Transformers- Revenge of the Fallen for the second time.

But it happened so quickly. There I was heading home after school and I spot Sathin. Then we spot Henry. Upon which both boys convince me to watch the movie. Of course I did not need that much of convincing. I'm such a geek.

Anyways I watched it again with Sathin, Henry, Suady, Isabelle, Yoga and Naathan. It was freaking awesome.

Here are 10 reasons why you should watch Transformers:

1) Steven and Michael are the executive producers.
2) Shia Lebouf is in it! (I so love this guy ever since he acted in 'Even Stevenson"
3) Megan Fox.
4) Freaking Optimus Prime is freaking awesome despite the fact that he freaking died halfway but then again, he freaking came alive at the end of it all.
5) The deliciously crafted special effects that leave you drooling for more.
6) The sound of the Transformers morphing...come on...you have to admit it's bloody awesome to hear the mechanical sounds.
7) The soundtrack...duh.
8) The storyline, despite coming to an end rather abruptly, is brilliant.
9) Bumblebee is as adorable as ever and ofcourse Jet brings a whole new perspective to old people.
10) Because you'll be left out when everyone else talks about it.*

*Insert laughter

And I solemnly promise not to mention Transformers after this.

Question please

Where am I?
Here and there.

What am I doing?
This and that.

How am I feeling?
Okay and alright.

Who am I with?
Him and her.

Why am I writing like this?
Because I'm bored.

I guess I'm bored even after that last week of continous activity. Sad isn't it? lol.
It's like I have this need to be constantly stressed and working.
Either ways, I've got our first production meeting to look forward to tomorrow. Peter Pan will be launched tomorrow at 1pm and then there will be work to do XD.

On another note, I'm trying my very best to keep calm in other matters. It's never really been a problem for me but now it's just getting tiring. But I'll have to hold up. The only thing I can hope for now is that someday, someone is not going to expect me to be calm all the time...or level headed or logical. I could be foolish and childish and all those kiddish things.

Until then, I'll just be stern and domineering : ) Love all those people who are still my friends despite my domineering manners.

Ireland guys. Ireland.

Who else would I be posting about?

How do I define the way he had a part in my life?

By this video of course : ) "They don't really care about us".

It's a song that redefinied the way several songs were composed after that and it was my favourite song by Michael.

STILL EXCITED!!!

How can you expect to sleep after watching Transformers- Revenge of the Fallen!!!!!!

I'm in Heaven

Three things made my day today...

1) Breakfast with Prabs and Indra at Macs
2) Reading at Woodlands Regional Library

and...

3) TRANSFORMERS- REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

Ahhhh!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! (x 100)

First of all, if in my next life I become a robot, I want to be Optimus Prime.

Second of all, I want to watch Transformers again.

Third, Ahhhhhhhh!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

What freaking more do you want me to say!!! The storyline was brilliant. The graphics were beyond anything I expected and Optimus Prime was ahhhh!!!! Sorry.

Anywho, the origins of transformers was revealed in this movie. Furthermore, several new tranformers were revealed and it was awesome to see Fembots and microbots in this movie. Honestly, I'm in heaven right now and nothing anyone says or does in the next one week can demolish this brilliant mood I'm in right now.

Crazed

Where do I even begin. The last one week has been a whirlwind of activities and I'm both mentally and physically tierd. It began with an NUS camp on Monday that lasted till Wednesday. I basically had to make trips back and forth till Wednesday. Helped guard kids during the Night walk, helped bring stuff for the logistics team and did any other things they required of me.

Then Thursday came. Went for my check up then went down to check on Indra and her project. She was holding up good.

Then Friday came. Friday was a day long of movies:
1) 10am-12pm: CinderElla revamped Musical
2) 12pm- 2pm: Bolt
3) 2pm- 4pm: High Musical 3
4) Enchanted
5) Night at the Museum
6) Transformers

After which Indra and I got Wong to play 'Transformers- Revenge of the Fallen' trailer.

Indra did an amazing job for her first job and she should feel proud of herself because not many people have the courage to even take up the role. Indra you should know that what you have done is impressive.

Then Saturday came. We had the YEC meeting and then Naathan's barbeque. We did not even sleep and stayed up all the way through. At about 2am I tried convincing people to join me in breaking a record (yeah...my own record XD) in throwing a frisbee around for as long as we could. But then no one wanted to.

However, at 4am, we started throwing a ball around and evantually everyone joined and so, the ATBA started. It's the abbrevation for Association of Throw Ball Around. Raj got competitive, Thana got competitive and evantually I did as well. lol Kicking Raj out was somehow the most joyous thing at that moment. XD. Had fun though guys and Ganesh....I hail you : )

So then, at 6.30pm, I went up to shower and left for macs to have breakfast with them.

So it was Sunday by then and Indra and I headed over to Jelutong CC. I started pumping helium into balloons while Indra and Shanty set up photo taking booth. Henry and Ganesh arrived to emcee and Naathan dressed as a clown to give out balloons. I evantually had to become stage manager. So by 6pm that day, I was dead dead dead tired.

Got home and knocked out completely and just now, at 7.30pm, went to play frisbee.

Note to someone: I know you haven't exactly been home for awhile and your parents would want to see you. They should for they haven't seen you in a long time. Hang out with them as much as you can because their going to be there for you more than anyone else.

And as for what happened on Sunday, it does matter. It does matter that it didn't work out as well as you hoped it would. It does matter that not everyone was happy.

But you know what, screw it all. Life is not perfect. And it certainly isn't easy. We make mistakes and fumble all the time. But that's just it. It's those moments that make us the way we are. The mistakes we make are what define us.

We all go through it. Leaders more than others experience these instances. But isn't it worth it to go through 500 mistakes and attain one huge success rather than making 1 mistake and living with the knowledge that you're not capable of anything?

Trust me. I must have been through 499 mistakes at least. You are brilliant at what you do. You just have to refine the way you do it.

And as for everything else in your life, hang in there. You are going to get out of it. Just hang in there.

I WANT TO SLEEP

It's 2.50am in the morning and I'm still awake and I'm going to be awake till 5am. *bangs head against the table*

Why!?!

Because I have to leave for a camp at NUS by 6am. Meeting Prabs for breakfast at Macs at 6am. Then, I'll leave at 6.30am for NUS. *sobs and moans* "Sleep...."

I'm watching Hannah Montana while trying to keep awake cause if I fall asleep I'll definitely have trouble waking up later.

"You get the beessssstttt of both world...." wow I really need to grow up.

I'm trying to enter NUS' production blog but I can't for some god forsaken reason!!!!!

*cries in exasperation* Actually I feel like a zombie...I mean I am fuming inside but I'm like a rag doll seated on my sofa. My fingers are the only things moving, skidding over the keyboard of my acer laptop. Why the hell I mentioned 'acer', I have absolutely no idea.

Anywho, moving on...

It's now 3.03am and Kim Possible is on....Imma gonna change the channel now...

Wooo....the only interesting thing on right now...is a movie called 'The Wendell Baker Story' (on Star World). It's about an ex-con who is kind-hearted. Excues me for not being descriptive at this ungodly hour.

By the way, my body is slowly slumping to the right....

It's 3.09am...

Oh oh oh! I love watching 'That's so Raven' and 'CSI-Miami' and 'Ugly Betty' and 'Ben 10-Alien Force' and 'Justice League' and 'Transformers' and .......

Shite! My eyes are closing on their own accord...and just for the fun of it, I spelled shit as shite for that's how it is spelt in England.

Dan Dan dan....it's now 3.12am......I'm using my pyschic powers to will time to move faster so that 5am comes quicker...Check in with me exactly 1 hour and 48 minutes later.

Dum dum di dum....

It's now 3.14am.

I'll check in awhile later...

Dance Show

Got back from a show that my sis, my bro, Prabs, Naathan, Indra, Sameer, Sathin, Yoga, Kanitha, Suady, Henry and Ganesh went to watch. Isabelle was of course there because Isaac (her twin brother was performing).

Yes, we went down to support Pretty Boyz, a dance group that Isaac, Junior and Raghu are in (lol sorry I don't know the rest in there)

But before I even go there, here's what happened at the dance show...

1) Screaming
2) Vicky going onto Stage and dancing and winning a free ticket to the finals
3) Screaming
4) My sis going on to stage and screwing up the tamil language (hahaha)
5) More Screaming
6) Weird Dances
7) Booing
8) Just plain funny dances
9) Laughing
10) AND of course PRETTY BOYZ

I'm not going to say much about the performance except that it was different and definitely stood out.

Here's a note to the young man who seems to have the entire world's weight on his shoulders;

The performance was exceptional. Yes, it was a choreography meant for a bigger stage but that does not matter. You have other chances to show what that performance could have been or even what your vision for it was. As for the performance done, it was fun to watch despite all that happened.
Don't think about it too much because all that matters was that you were doing what you loved the most on stage. So smile idiot.

Children's Camp!!!! (on 5th to 6th June)

Why do we have our hands raised up in the air? No. The police are not doing a raid.
And no. We're not insane.
We were singing 'Father Abraham'! For any die hard campers (or just anyone who has even been to one camp), this is a popular song sung at the campfire.
It goes like this...

Father Abraham has seven children,
Seven children has Father Abraham,
Some of them were tall and some of them were short,
But none of them were right.
*Raise your right

(then you sing it all over again
but each time, the last sentence changes to....

*Raise your left
Stamp your right
Stamp your left
And finally,

Tongue in*

So we were just preparing the kids on how to sing the camp songs. Then...

Yeah...even in camps the lines for food are super long!!! lol Look at their tired faces!!! Don't tell anyone but for my kids (the Gambits), I took their food to the table for them. But everything else they did for me muahahahaha!!!! They were my own personal sla...ahem...

Camp facilitors!!!!!! (okay from the left)
There's Suba, Naathan, Jia Hou, Mathan or is that Yoga!?!, Colin (the one holding the bread in the air), Zahirah aka Paki and of courseKa Hui.

This is Colin's group, Cyclops. They are an odd team who respect Colin lol. Anywho, they are the crazy bunch who say weird things leaving most of the facilitators confused.

This is Naathan's group; Iceman. Sathin and Izzat helped him out. Iceman...is....a....um....ah....Naathan's personal group of worshippers. And I'm not joking. They call him Ice God. They also call him Teddy Bear. Oh oops. Sorry. Mr. Teddy Bear.

Suba's group; Rogue!!! Co-headed by Prabs and evantually, Praven, Ganesh and Kanitha.
This is the group that proved to be the under dogs or as I like to call them, the silent killers. They were literally the quietest group except of course for that one kid; Jacky (that's not how it's spelled but it is how it sounds lol). And ended up winning 2nd place in the camp. Kudos to Rogue.

Ah yes...the ever famous Pyro headed by Yoga. And evantually Yoga's brother, Mathan joined the group. Pyro is hilarious. You should have seen the kids' faces when they first saw the tall tall tall Yoga. I suspect that is one of the reasons why they respect the 'gentle giant' xD

This is Zahirah's group; Shadowcat. Shamala co-
headed this group. Zah worked her butt off with this group and it was hilarious because I think she was the most bullied facilitator at the camp while Shamala was the disciplinarian : ) Love you
monkeys!!!!

Jia Hou's group; Wolverine!!!! Henry helped out as well. Wolverine was probably the most nicest group. Quiet respecting kids lol. At least some of them were...then there were those monkeys hidden amongst the angels xD.

Ka Hui's group; Storm!!! This is my favourite X-Men character (Gambit's the second). Ka Hui is crazily and insanely energetic that it rubbed off onto her group. Look them....they're covered in flour...Do I need to say anything more....
AND HERE'S MY GROUP!!!! GAMBIT!!!! AIN HELPED ME TAKE CARE OF THE TEAM. Indra and Sathin watched over the two kids; Daryl and Elijah and Prabs hung out with us as well.
Anywho, Gambit you guys rock for the very fact that you'll evolved to become a team that inspired and awed me in many ways : )
Plus, congrats on the win guys!!! FIRST PLACE lol

3rd post in one day!!!!

Muahahaha I'm in some weird ass typing spree....lol

Just wanted to mention that I was watching 'Peter Perfect' on the style network and realised that I had forgotten that Haresh Kishon was staying over at my house. lol I'm such an idiot. Yeah he's currently in Shanty's room...sleeping...duh....adorable kid really....

Ahem...

*smiles sheepishly*

Actually that's all I came to say...

*give me one INDRA CLAP*

Clap Clap Clap *croo croo croo*

xD

Frisbee today at 7.30pm. I'll buy the frisbee...promise...And I'll keep them under lock and key this time so that we don't loose it!!! Or break it!!! Or...whatever it...

K...Night : )

She's Leaving

Yeah...my aunty is leaving for India. She's been working in my house for the past 6 years and now she's going back to get married by the end of the year. *taps against the keys considering what to say*

I'm going to miss her. She started off as just a maid but now she's practically part of the family. I'm gonna miss her because she was always there...somehow there. It's like she was an integral part of our everyday life. XD. Hell! My friends say they're gonna miss her lol.

To Karthik aunty,

I know you're never going to read this nor will I ever say this to you (mostly because I don't think I'm going to do a fabulous job translating this into tamil), but I need to type it out anyways. You are a very special person and you need to know that. Screw the fact that your parents say you're just another Indian female going back to India after working abroad. You need to know that you are an ambitious and intelligent female.

You are capable of so much more. I should know that. I've seen the way you juggle so many things. But since you accept the way of life that has been set for you, this is all I have to say to you:

I hope the man you marry is kind hearted and will love you unconditionally.
I hope you have four children (like you said you would love to) who will treasure you as their mother.
I hope you start that business of yours.
I hope that you stay in touch with us.
And I hope that you will be happy.

Take care aunty.

Ps: She's leaving in a few hours time....early morning flight...

GENTING

Genting...such a common place for most Singaporeans to go on holiday for. SO!?!

I enjoyed myself so much despite the fact that all I did was was eat, sleep, shop, eat again and so on....

It was fun. Trust me.

There was gambling (between Prateepan and Sathin. There were playing poker and they were using Facebook- Pet Society 'mystery boxes' as pawns for their games. Don't ask.) ...there was weird laughter (mostly from Sathim), insane behaviour (from my sis) and just plain rubbish talk.

I was just leaning on anything I could get my hands on lol. No seriously. Imagine me leaning against pillar after pillar. It was a sad sad scene xD.

Anywho, I'm back with curly hair. Yes!!! The insane curls are back...and no Henry cannot take any pictures of the lion mane. *squeaks* Please!!!!

Oh and the reason why I was so tired the entire trip which by the way lasted from Sunday till Tuesday, was because there was a camp before that....and that is a story for another post...

I'm gonna go munch on food first. Then if I feel like it, I'll post...oh yeah...I've got some sad news...

Times and Memories (Part 3)

A phantom of a smile appeared on her tanned face before disappearing as quickly as it had formed. She shifted her head so that she was looking out the window, where the scenery that flashed by was still the same. Sighing, she fiddled with her fingers, not sure where to place them at all. Unknowingly, her fingers moved to the dashboard where they began a slow rhythmic beat. It lasted for a whole five minutes before the man beside her grunted in displeasure.

“Sorry,” she muttered before returning both her hands to her lap. But a few minutes later, she was shifting uncomfortably in her seat, trying to find a position that suited her.

“You were always a fidgety child,” the man said smilingly before looking at his daughter. “Relax a little. We’re almost there.”

She nodded her head, slightly surprised at hearing any sort of emotion in her father’s voice. He had not spoken much to her during the entire car ride and if he did, it was to only give instructions. Settling herself back into the leather seat, she clasped her hands together before closing her eyes.
…………………………………………………………………………………………..

“Why look at you! You’re so beautiful,” her mother teared before Faith could react. She herself was feeling emotional and she was not used to the surge of emotions that flooded her at that moment. She felt extremely vulnerable and at the same time felt the most secure.

She held back the tears that threatened to spill forth onto her cheeks. She could not allow that or Mimi, her make-up artist would kill her for sure. “Oh mum. You don’t know how happy I am right now.” Faith’s joy could be seen in the way she glowed.

Her mother came to stand behind her before plucking the pearl necklace that lay on the dressing table. Holding it around Faith’s neck, she clicked the clasp close and looked into her daughter’s emerald eyes. “I just want you to be happy.”

Faith rose from her seat behind the dressing table and smiled at her mother through the mirror, “I am mother, I truly am.”

“Honey, the harpist is asking where to set up?” the mother daughter moment was ruined when Faith’s father barged into the room, confusion written upon his face. “They ask me like I would know!”

Faith couldn’t help it. Bubbles of laughter spilled from her lips as she saw her father in a most confused state. Her mother however, controlled herself before stepping to her husband. I’ll handle it Charles. Don’t worry that thick head of yours.” And as her mother walked out of the room, Faith swore she heard her say, “Don’t ever send a man to do a woman’s job.”

Faith turned to look at her father, uncertainty written upon her face as she made a full circle to show her father how she looked. Silence ensued for awhile before her father stepped up to her very quickly and pulled her into a tight embrace. “You look like an angel darling.” He pulled away and looked down at his daughter. “I am so very proud of the woman you’ve become.” Faith blushed prettily at her father’s words before readjusting her white gown. “And if that man ever hurt you, I will…” he trailed off as Faith placed her hands on her hips and looked at him sternly.

“Dad how many times have I told you that I love him and that he loves me as well. He would never do anything to hurt me and I know it,” Faith declared passionately.

Her father’s grim look faded away at her determined words. He didn’t trust Damien and Faith could see it clearly in his face but she knew he would set aside all differences just to see her happy and she was grateful for that. Nodding his head, her father left the room to settle several unfinished matters leaving Faith to her thoughts.

Lord knew Damien was a handful. Her soon to be was an opinionated man with a manner for being ruthless in his business. But Faith had found a way to love him for she had discovered a man of a loving heart. Damien had courted her with single minded determination that had amused Faith.

She remembered the way he used to send bouquets of flowers to her apartment and for weeks, Faith remembered the way her home would smell of freshly cut flowers. The memories brought a wistful smile to her face while she swayed on the spot, her body moving on its own accord. She could still remember the first time Damien had held her in his arms. He had held his hand out to her, quietly asking for her to dance with him under the moonlight on the street. There had been no music but their bodies swayed in time to a tune that only the two of them could hear. And as she had peered into his azure eyes, Faith had known what was going to come next and she had welcomed it. Leaning over, Damien kissed Faith and on that starry night, Faith had fallen in love.

“What are you doing staring into blank space when all the guests are waiting for you to make your grand entrance?” Faith’s dreamlike state was disturbed when Ray barged into the room. Spinning about, Faith looked at her sister and for a few seconds, the two siblings stared at each other before squealing in delight.

“Can you believe it Ray? Can you believe that I’m….I’m…” Faith trailed of as excitement and trepidation consumed her.

Pulling her sister into a fierce hug, Ray smilingly said, “You deserve this Faith. You deserve it all. You’re the most caring and selfless person I know and it is good to see someone love you for those very things.”

Faith pulled away and playfully punched at her sister who was dressed in a lavender gown, “Stop it, you’re going to make me cry.” Grinning Ray grabbed her sister’s bouquet from the side table before ushering Faith out of the spacious room.

“Come on before your soon to be husband comes hunting for you,” Ray said teasingly. Faith’s heart soared at hearing the word ‘husband’ and a few minutes later, when she was walking towards the alter with her father holding on to her arm, Faith’s emerald eyes met Damien’s and in that moment, Faith knew she had found true love for in her husband’s eyes, she saw pride and unbridled joy.

Times and Memories (Part 2)

(This is part 2 of Times and Memories. Part 1 is in the post written before this.)

The car made a smooth turn into one of the parking lots of the local mall and came to a stop. She was jolted out of her thoughts at the lack of movement. Pushing away from the door, she let out a soft yawn while glancing at the person next to her. “Why are we stopping here?” She had assumed they were going to head directly to their destination.

“I’ve got to get some stuff they wanted. You can wait here in the car. I won’t be long,” the man beside her answered as he got out of the car. Sighing, she sat there silently for a few moments before the silence got to her. Grasping the car handle, she swung the car door open.

“Fresh air,” she sighed at the cool breeze that caressed her face. Squinting her eyes, she looked up into the cloudless sky where the sun was shining brightly. Laugher filled the open spaced car park as families loaded their cars with their groceries. Closing her eyes, she tried to take it all in to try and forget what was waiting for her a few miles away.

Taking in a deep breath, she slowly breathed out, counting every second that went by in an attempt to keep her mind occupied. It was almost working until a familiar voice called for her.

“Moon, is that you?” the voice came out unsure at first but when she opened her eyes to look at the female, the voice grew stronger, sounding more convinced. “Oh my god, Moon it is you!”

“Amber!” she herself could not hide the joy that filled her voice. Opening her arms, she hugged her old friend enthusiastically. “Oh it’s so good to see you.”

“How have you been? Where is that man of yours? When did you arrive? Are you here to visit her?” Amber shot all those questions at her. She couldn’t help but laugh at Amber’s string of questions.

“I’m fine. Came in today and yes I am here to visit her,” she quickly answered all the questions tactfully ignoring the second one altogether.

Amber held her at arms length and took one good look at her. “God you look good. The city suits you fine I suppose.”

“I enjoy it there but it’s good to back here,” she blatantly lied to her childhood friend. There was nothing good about her returning here.

“Well I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you. God knows it’ll do her some good,” Amber winked at her friend obviously pleased at having this surprise reunion. She had missed her friend when she had returned back to their hometown two years back. At that time, Amber had been away at her grandmother’s funeral. It had been some time since they had last talked and Amber could clearly remember the conversation despite how short it had been.
………………………………………………………………………………………......

“Amber!” she squealed in delight at hearing her friend’s voice. “I didn’t think you’d call!”

“Are you kidding me? My best friend has just gotten a job at the New York Times as a journalist! Of course I’d call,” Amber was perky as usual and the excitement in her voice was infectious.

“I know! Can you believe it? I start first thing tomorrow and I’ve got my own desk and all!” At that, both the girls screamed into the phone.

“You should know that everyone here is real proud of you Faith.”

A smile formed upon Faith’s tan skin as she took it all in. She knew how proud her parents were of her but to hear her friend say it just made her want to jump up and down in excitement. Instead, she composed herself and spoke calmly into the phone, “Please tell everyone I miss them Amber and tell them Ray and I send our love.”

“Will do, darling! And don’t forget to call!” Amber screamed into the phone before both girls laughed and bid their farewells.

“So? Which do you think I should wear? This or the first one?” In stormed Ray, ruining any chance of peace Faith thought she could have. And in an odd way, Faith wouldn’t have it any other way. Clicking the phone back into place, Faith turned to stare at her sister who stood in the middle of their apartment dressed in a black cocktail dress. The one piece attire was something Faith would never wear for it was entirely too revealing but Ray was the confident one who loved to dress her best. Toss Faith a pair of jeans any day and she’d be happy.

“Um…I think the first one was cute but this,” before Faith could complete her sentence, Ray cut her off.

“Cute? I don’t want to look cute! Faith, I have to look sophisticated not cute!” Ray plopped onto the white couch that lay in front of the plasma television. “Damien is a famous lawyer,” Ray stressed on the word lawyer before carrying on, “And he’s taking me to a restaurant for our one month anniversary. I have to look my best!” Faith could see that her sister was whining and grinned to herself.

“You didn’t let me finish idiot. What I meant to say was the first one was cute but this one makes you look classy.” And it was true. The sleeveless cocktail dress had a deep V-cut in the front that ended just below her bosom. The silk-like clothe was gathered at the point the neckline ended only to fall in cascades of black material, ending just above Ray’s knees.

Upon hearing that, Ray’s smile returned and her emerald eyes shone brightly. Jumping up from where she was seated, she skipped over to the body length mirror on the wall and made a spin. “You really think it’s nice?”

Returning her sister’s smile, Faith walked over to the bane of her existence and placed her hands on her sister’s shoulders. One pair of emerald eyes looked into another pair before Faith whispered conspiringly, “I wouldn’t be surprised if he dropped to one knee and proposed marriage right there and then.”
……………………………………………………………………………………….

Times And Memories (Part 1)

Summer was not a season she loved. Too many memories came from that one time. Too many hurts returned with those memories. Too much joy lost in that one summer. She had tried so hard to forget it all and had succeeded. It had worked. All those years had been carefully tucked away, never to be touched. She had moved on, she had learnt to forget. She had chosen to forget.

Her eyes flickered open, revealing the chocolate brown that coloured her iris. Long black lashes rimmed her wide eyes as she gazed out the window into the streets that seemed to run by too fast. She wanted to scream for everything to stop. She didn’t want this. She never wanted this. She shouldn’t even be here. She didn’t belong here any more.

……………………………………………………………………………………….......

“Faith! Faith hurry up! Come on we’re going to be late!”

“I’m coming!” she hollered back. Quickly grabbing the towel and shoes that lay on the chair, Faith pushed it into a duffel bag before sprinting down the spiral stairs straight into the living room.

“You’re going to make us late for practice again,” Ray grumbled as she grabbed her sister by the hand. “Mum, Faith’s here. Let’s go!”

Faith giggled to herself as she let her sister pull her to the door. Ray was very particular about practice and she hated being late for it. Faith was not as particular because she knew practice wouldn’t start on time, at least for her it wouldn’t.

Slipping into the car seat beside her mother, Faith zipped her bag close before leaning back into the seat. Ray jumped into behind her before slamming the door shut. “Come on mum! Go, go, go!”

“You talk to me like I’m your horse and we’re not moving,” their mother warned Ray as she entered the car. “And don’t slam the door like a barbarian. You’re a young woman for god sakes.”

Silence ensued for a few seconds as their mother proceeded to turn the key and start the car. Faith softly counted down to herself, “Three, two, one….”

“Mum, seriously we need to go! Coach’s going to angry with me,” Ray blurted out just as Faith had predicted.

“No she won’t. You’re the best there and she treats you like royalty so she’s not going to yell at you,” Faith intervened before their mum decided not to even send them to practice.

“You’re one to talk! You came down late! We could have been there by now.” It was now obvious that in her agitation, Ray was spoiling for a fight that Faith was not in the mood to give. Thankfully their mother interrupted.

“Ray, don’t argue with your sister and Faith I think you owe her an apology.”
“What? Why do I have to apologise to her for?” Faith sat up in her seat, surprised that her mother wanted her to apologise. In response, her mum just looked at her with that you-know-why-you-need-to-apologise look.

“Fine,” she fell back onto her seat. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled as softly as she could doubtful that anyone could even hear her but apparently that was enough for her mum because there was no more scolding after that.

“We’re here, we’re here, were here!” Ray began to jump in her seat as excitement filled her voice.

“Would you calm down? You just haven’t been to practice for what, three weeks?” Faith chided her sister.

“Yes, but it has been a long three weeks and I miss the sessions,” Ray sighed, happiness entwined in her words.

“Alright girls, here we are. Now remember I’ll pi…” before their mum could even complete her sentence, Ray was out of the car and running towards the building. “If only she would show that much enthusiasm for her chores,” their mum sighed.

“Don’t worry about it, I’ll tell her whatever it is you were saying,” Faith pushed her door open before hopping out of the car.

“Which is?”

“You’ll pick us up here at 7pm like you always do and we’d better be on time because you don’t like waiting,” Faith practically sang the line she was so used to hearing. “Am I right?”

“Just shut the door,” her mother tried for the rude tone but failed as a smile formed upon her face. “I’ll see you girls later. Love you.”

“Love you mum,” Faith closed the door and stepped onto the pavement as the car pulled away. Turning around, she made her way towards the building’s entrance. Entering the quiet hallway where only one or two people were around, Faith was about to head off for practice when she heard Ray’s voice from behind her.

“First day of practice and I’ve already screwed it up! I forgot my…” Ray stopped short as Faith pulled out the pair of shoes she had chucked into her bag earlier, “…shoes. Thank you! Have fun at dance practice!” Ray pulled the shoes from Faith’s hand and began to run back from where she had come from.

“Ray!” Faith called out to her sister who spun around to face her.

“Yeah?”

“Have fun at soccer practice and try not to hurt someone.”

Ray grinned at that and carried on running towards the direction of the field while Faith slowly walked towards the studio where dance practice was being run.
