Ponder About It

1) Take a paper. An A4 sized one preferably.

2) Now draw a line half way down the paper. Done?

3) Now take 2 pens, each a different colour.

4) On the left side of the paper write, using one colour, Like. And on the other side, with a different coloured pen, write, Dislike.

5) Then, take 5 minutes to think about your day, your week, your life. Done?

6) Pick up your pen and fill in the right side with whatever you didn't like about your day, your life, your personality, your appearance, school...basically anything.

7) Then, fill up the left side, with all your likes. Your character, confidence, your smile or hair, your work, the flowers you saw while you were walking home...anything under the sun.

8) Fill each side with at least 10 things you Like and Dislike.

9) Take a ruler and rip down the line, seperating the Like column from the Dislike column.

10) Read through the Dislike column one last time and crush into a ball. Now close your eyes and throw it into a dustbin. Read through your Like column and fold it as many times as possible. Slip that piece into your wallet, your pencil box, anywhere you'd like.

We dislike alot of things in our lives and even if we refuse to admit it, these things bog us down and prevent us from doing the wonders we are so very capable of.

Don't hold on to these things. Let them go. And when you close your eyes just before throwing that part of the list away, imagine your life without these Dislikes.

Why do you think God put walls in our lives? Why do you think he made it difficult for us to gain happiness? Why do you think pure joy, trust and true love is so very hard to achieve or believe in?

Why?

Because it makes us appreciate the things we attain more when we do finally get it.

Because even if we feel joy for only a second, it is that moment that reminds us what we're fighting for.

It's not for money or for power. It's not for control or respect.

It's for that sense of knowing.

Knowing that one day you will be able to write a line down a piece of paper and only fill up the column that says Like.
